Address demographic diversity and harness fully the demographic dividend to drive continued, good and inclusive economic growth in order to achieve Bangladesh’s vision to transit to “middle-income country” status and achieve the Agenda 2030 by strengthening basic social services and making strategic investments in adolescent and youth to realize their full potential.
Sustainable development envisages gender equality aspect to be mainstreamed into all areas of development. Gender balanced approach must be considered in all the national priority areas – designing of family friendly policies, development of education programs, youth empowerment, information and communication strategies, provision of health services; focusing on programming, as well as ensuring financial support to the programs is also considering gender equality.
The Belgian development cooperation will continue to contribute to the objective of zero sexual and gender based violence.We will continue to support a Programme against sexual violence in DR Congo. The program implements a multi-sectoral approach that considers medical, psychosocial, legal and socio-economic care, and is based on the specific role of the health sector. It contributes to the implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Gender-Based Violence.The programme has just been extended for one more year, until the end of 2020.

Belgium commits to continue to actively promote the rights of women and girls. The Belgian development cooperation will continue to support She Decides movement by participating in advocacy and mobilization events internationally and in countries. For example on the occasion of SheDecides Days. We will continue to advocate strongly for the right of women and girls to decide, freely and for themselves, whether, when and how many children they have.
Belgian development cooperation will continue to contribute to the ICPD Programme of Action through its bilateral cooperation mainly in 5 partner countries. We will continue to support programs that focus on: reducing maternal mortality, promoting family planning, promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health and combating sexual and gender-based violence, including prevention and care of survivors.See below the different programs: Benin : Promotion of Rights and Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR) (until 2023); Burkina Faso : Sexual and Reproductive Rights - (until 2023); Guinea : Sexual and Reproductive Rights - (until 2023); Rwanda : Sexual reproductive health (SRH) - Result based financing (RBF) (until 2024); Senegal : Promotion of the health of women, newborns, children and adolescents (until 2024).
The Belgian development cooperation commits to continue its policy of contributing to the general resources of its multilateral partner organizations involved in implementing the Cairo Programme of Action and especially to UNFPA , as its main partner for sexual and reproductive health and rights. This predictable, multi-year, unearmarked funding should help strengthen UNFPA's work for the implementation of the Cairo Program of Action. [€9 million according to MA].
Exploiter le dividende démographique en investissant dans la production de données désagrégées, le déploiement à l’échelle nationale du programme d’éducation à la santé sexuelle ainsi que dans des services adaptés aux jeunes filles et garçons en veillant à ne laisser personne de côté.
Dans le cadre du programme de protection sociale pour tous au Bénin, maintenir les filles à l’école en portant le taux de rétention scolaire des filles de 40% à 95% d’ici à 2030 à travers une stratégie combinée de cantines scolaires, lutte contre les grossesses en milieu scolaire et le mariage des enfants.
Réduire d’ici 2030 la mortalité maternelle de 335 à moins de 200 décès maternels pour 100,000 naissances et prévenir les grossesses non désirées et les avortements, notamment en fournissant un accès universel à la planification familiale y compris avec des stratégies innovantes 2. Parvenir à un taux de 30% de prévalence contraceptive moderne d’ici 2030.
Assurer la mise en œuvre de la résolution 1325 sur Femme, Paix et Sécurité adopté par le Conseil des Ministres en septembre 2019. Améliorer la capacité des acteurs sociaux à reconnaître et à prévenir la violence basée sur le genre, en garantissant un réseau efficient de services et de référence pouvant atténuer les conséquences de la violence, ainsi que l’entière réhabilitation des victimes.
